Elton back in town to say goodbye...

For the first time in history, Elton John will perform his 1973 double album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in its entirety on October 20th at New York City's New Amsterdam Theatre. It was announced on eltonjohn.com that all proceeds will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF), Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), and Friends In Deed charities, according to eltonjohn.com.

The show, which will be performed in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the album's release, will feature Elton trading off lead vocals on the songs with special guests including Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Jane Krakowski, Stew, Joey Arias, Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters, and the casts of the productions of Hair and The Lion King.
